Final Standings for
2019 Heartland Challenge

The board eliminated the date requirement and replaced it with the following:
Part of GOBS mission is to promote barbeque and contests in the Midwest and to grow GOBS. We thank the teams that did join by the 1 April deadline and appreciate their early renewal. The change with the Heartland Challenge will allow a team to join GOBS and be considered part of the Heartland Challenge at any time with the following stipulation:
There is no retroactive for any previously completed contest effective 10 May 2018. For any contest to count you must join GOBS the day previous to the turn-in.
HEARTLAND CHALLENGE 2019
Eligibility for the 2019 Heartland Challenge and the Greater Omaha Barbeque Society’s Team of the Year are as follows.
The head cook must be a current member of the Greater Omaha BBQ Society.
The head cook must cook in at least 5 participating contests. (See contest list below)
All Heartland Challenge contests are KCBS sanctioned and the determination of the Team of the Year points will be done using scores given by KCBS.
Each team will be ranked by their 5 highest overall Heartland Challenge Contest scores.
The team with the highest overall combined 5 contest score will be crowned the Greater Omaha Barbeque Society’s 2019 Team of the Year.
The Greater Omaha Society reserves the right to alter the number of awarded contest based on the actual 2019 schedule.
The Greater Omaha Society reserves the right to replace a “cancelled” KCBS contest with another KCBS contest if available. This will be done so the Heartland Challenge may have the same amount of contests throughout the entire season.
The 2018 Team of the Year will receive 4 free entries into participating 2020 contests.
The Runner Up will receive 3 free entries into participating 2020 contests.
Third place will receive 2 free entries into participating 2020 contests.
Fourth to ? will receive 1 free entry into participating 2020 contests.
All standings will be updated after each contest on the Greater Omaha BBQ Society website www.gobs.org and / or on the Greater Omaha Barbeque Society’s Facebook page.
