Calling All BBQ Judging Enthusiasts!

We likely still have space for several more judges and table captains for the 18th Annual State BBQ Championship of Nebraska in LaPlatte (just south of Bellevue) on Aug 22.

If you are interested, please drop us an email at barbqbill@aol.com and provide your name, evening phone #, and whether or not you are a certified BBQ judge yet under the KCBS rules. If there is enough of a demand we may conduct a judging class in August.

Note, we also need judges for side dishes and best beans. These events are always wildly popular. Drop us a note if you would like to judge one of these other contests on Aug. 22.

GOBS Summer Family Picnic

Sunday July 26 @ Base Lake, Bellevue

(Note: change of date from Saturday to Sunday)

GOBS returns to beautiful Base Lake, one of the area's undiscovered gems, for our annual member picnic. GOBS will provide the main course (hotdogs and burgers) and the plates, napkins, etc. You and your family simply need to show up with a salad or side dish to share, and the beverage of your choice. There is ample room for a game of frisbie, or rent a paddle boat and cruise the lake. We will gather at 1 and have use of the covered picnic shelter until 6 pm. More details will follow!

We will dine in Big Horn's beautiful outdoor Beer Garden

Social Hour: 6-7 pm, dinner follows

Price to be set per person for GOBS members/guests ($2 extra for all others) - (cost includes meal, tax and gratuity). A cash bar (beer/wine) will also be offered.
