AUGUST DINNER MEETING

We're taking another short trip for the GOBS Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

A definite favorite and the setting of our upcoming contest . . . The Station House at Sokol Park in LaPlatte, NE. 

This is located just 5 miles south of Bellevue on Hwy 75.

Members, guests and contestants are welcome to join us!

Matt Burt from Phat Jack's will be our caterer.  His competition BBQ has won Grand Champion at the first two legs of the Nebraska Triple Crown this year - Springfield and Eagle.

TIME: 6:00 p.m. Social Hour           DINNER : 7:00 p.m.

Appetizers - Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos, Smoked Sausage & Cheese Tray 

Dinner - Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends and Brisket

Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Grilled Seasoned Asparagus and Rolls

Surprise Dessert - Phat Jack's won the dessert category at Eagle so I'm sure we're in for a treat!

Storm Update!

Due to the flooding of Hayworth Park in Bellevue, we regret to advise you of the canellation of this year's Riverfest Red White & Que BBQ Contest, which was to bld in mid July.  The park will remain closed all summer, so the event will not be rescheduled, but will return come everything but high water!

We just wanted to say THANKS! for making our first trip to the State competition a wonderful experience!  This was our third competition and the prior two were at North Platte.  Everyone was so nice and helpful.  The facilities were excellent and everything was easy to get to.  The grounds were nice and clean, too!

A very special THANK YOU to lynne ( I hope that is spelled right!) for her hard work in the KIDS Q.  My boys (Jed, Jonah, and Gage Taylor) loved the experience and thought she was awesome.  She really took time with them and made them feel special.  The awards and ribbons looked great!

We can’t wait until next year!  We are planning on doing more contests in your area and plan on joining GOBS to stay up with the news.  Please keep us posted on the judges class in February.  We have several of us who would like to attend.
